Hello Love
:D I have yet another entry into the Winnie and Walter Playdate #1 challenge. You can find it at... www.blog.winniewalter.com/2014/03/playdate-no-1.html
Yes it is again using The Big, the Bold, and the Happy stamp set from Winnie & Walter I have much love for this set...to me the more versatile a stamp set is...the more inspiring I find it! As a matter of fact...You may catch me posting AGAIN today! LOL
When I saw the challenge picture it just FELT like spring to me!! (Maybe because more than a few of us are eager for Spring to get here already so we can rest under a tree on a blanket! LOL) Or perhaps it was the colors in the photo. Either way it brought spring to mind for me and as I said in a recent post, I loved the welded looking script and type font on the picture reading "Fresh Art Photography"- I have long loved the mixing of fonts and script and old typewriter is one of my all time faves.
Okay so onto the card! Spring brings to mind blossoms and I had recently done a watercolor flower and had so much fun that I went through my pins and found a watercolor piece (from Fitchwell's watercolors) and using it as inspiration I, who is NOT a watercolor artist by any stretch of the imagination...sketched out the blossoming cherry blossom branch and then painted it in with Tim Holtz distress inks. I then added the Winnie and Walter stamps and it POLISHED it right off!! So here's my card! Hope you like it :D

Tim's 12 tags of 2014 and inspiration spinoffs!
It's time again for my version of Tim Holtz's
12-tags-of-2014-march
I have a lot to share in this post so I'm going to get a move on with it. First up I copied Tim's tag as close as I could with the supplies I had on hand...I didn't have
Jute string on hand so I took a white paper twine I had and dyed it to match. I also didn't have the Observations word bands so I used the set I had on hand.
and I came up with these two tags- the original stamping and then the smudge stamped version...together here
I do like to follow Tim as close as I can to start with because I may come out with a cool new color combo that I wouldn't normally try on my own.
So then I wanted to do another version so I did these two tags here:
and then just the smudged version
A little close up?
Okay I had fun making these (OBVIOUSLY) I loved the spritzing and the stamps and the whole thing and then I got this idea...so I had to try it out and here was what I came up with
those were great practice pieces but this is what I was working towards. A Field Journal piece! Oh I had doing everything to get to this piece.
On this piece I used
Ranger Inksentials - Sticky-Back Natural Canvas and I stamped three eggs, one in Tumbled Glass distress ink, one in Tattered Rose and one in Scattered straw. I took Tim's Water brush and brushed the eggs adding a touch more of the matching ink to give a shadow to the bottom of the egg. I then over stamped the eggs with their spots and splotches stamp (both of these stamps are from Tim's/Stampers Anonymous Bird Feathers stamp set BTW) I used Walnut stain, tea dye and brushed corduroy to do this.
On Specialty paper I stamped the butterflies from the papillon set after coloring with the Distress markers. I then stamped in black on a transparency lined it up and put used Tim' long brads to attach both pieces to adhesive cork. I also stamped some bees/wasps from Classics #12 set from Tim/stampers Anonymous onto one of Tim's journaling Tickets. I also stamped the feather from the bird feather set after coloring in with Distress markers, onto specialty stamping paper and fussy cut it out.
I stamped the Dragonfly from The Classics #1 stamp set of Tim's/Stampers Anonymous onto Specialty stamping paper with Black Archival ink and colored in with Distress markers and added stickles to the wings. I added the bird from Tim's Thrift shop Ephemera pack and did the Field Guide title with Tim's Industrious stickers.
Of course I inked everything with Distress inks along the way.
I would like to enter this canvas piece into the Inspiration Emporium's Color challenge as well - you can find them here http://blog.inspirationemporium.com/?p=2114.

Love the splatters!
Tim Holtz's Splatters stencil that is, it's just so fun! It's no that the example over at Inspiration Emporium would use this stencil also as it just SCREAMS color to me! So here's my entry to the Splash of Color challenge over at Inspiration Emporium using Tim's Splatters stencil and one of Tim's Stamper's Anonymous sets called "Way With Words"
Hope you have an inky day! :D
PS for some reason I can't get to the challenge from my own link, so if it doesn't work for you either please copy and paste the below URL to see the challenge

Another post tonight.
I had to add a second post to be able to share all my cards today. I have a couple more cards to share. First up is one I did on Day 3 of the Online card Class- clean and simple card class and I would like to enter it in the the Winnie and Walter playdate #1 challenge as the colors are the same as in their card only not muted. also the rounded corners of the card.
Winnie and Walter stamp- The big the bold and the Happy.
And the last card I want to share with you tonight is also for the Winnie and Walter playdate #1 challenge I had fun mimicking the spots on the inspiration card and the rounded corners and then I muted the colors by adding vellum and stamping the sentiment on the top of it.
Thank you for dropping in and having a peek!! :D
Some more clean and Simple cards
I have totally enjoyed the Clean and simple card class from Online Card Classes they have changed the format now that gives you a week to work on your cards after class ends. Today I am sharing a few cards I have made from various days of the class.
First up is one from Day 5-masked backgrounds with a nice heavy dose of Distress ink!
then I have 2 cards from day 7 the first being called watercolor made easy. Well I didn't follow the example I struck out and decided to try doing a watercolor flower with distress inks, you can see the pencil marks from my sketched flower, I left it there just to show it's not a stamp or anything.
and the last of this batch is another card from the creative coloring portion of class, using distress markers is this card:

Time Travelers Bendi card.
I did up this card for the Inspiration Emporium "A Splash of Color" challenge -http://blog.inspirationemporium.com/?p=2114
The challenge is to use color and although this has a lot of browns in it I did use a good number of my distress markers in the making of it. I had this idea for a Bendi card- I had to totally make up the pattern by the seat of my pants since I had the design of the card in my head on how I wanted everything.
Totally happy it came out close to what I envisioned!
It uses The Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Time Travelers Stamp set and the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Simple sayings stamp set, http://www.inspirationemporium.com/TDMK34315.html, and Distress inks.
Thanks for popping in for a peek and if there is something of Tim Holtz's line you are looking for...check out the inspiration emporium!

Clean and Simple Online Card Class Days 3 and 4
Okie Dokie...here's my post for The Clean and Simple class over at Online Card Classes For these days a little pile of cards for various techniques.
First up are some techniques that Jennifer taught using masking techniques in different ways.
On the "You Make Me Happy When Skies are Grey" card that is a KasierCraft Stamp "You" and a Timmy stencil with Distress inks (of course!)
and the Other one is a Sentiment Stamp from Tim Holtz from his "Way With Words" stamp set and PTI's The Sweet Life stamp set.
I also got a Layered Stamping technique done and here is that card
This one used a BG of Hero arts "Five Lines" stamp, PTI the Sweet Life again and a sentiment from KaiserCraft "You" set again. As always my inks are all Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress inks.
Clean and simple??
I am taking another Online Card Classes. Clean and Simple 3 is the name of the Class, the idea is one layer cards basically, although it is left up to your own definition of what you consider to be clean and simple. For me this is QUITE a challenge, I don't usually do flat cards and I am finding them anything BUT simple! LOL I think I would rather do ten layers than totally flat. lol
These are my cards from Day one and two, I will do a separate post for Day 3 and 4.
So here we have my Day one/two cards
There were three techniques and I got two of them done Faux metal which used Tim Holtz Distess inks and PTI and Winnie and Walter stamps. I am also going to share this over at Winnie and Walter because they are new and sharing is good inky karma!
The other technique I got done was Faux layered die cuts. Using SSS exclusive small heart Doily die (I used the smallest heart from this little set), the Technique tuesday "This Arrow Card" and the "Straight talk- Happy Die"
I'm having fun even though it is a challenge. :D I mean where would the fun be in a class where it was all easy peasy?? Thanks for peeking in on me! Will have another post for Day 3 and 4 of class shortly!
