a little Love ya bunches pull slider card

Funny, got this idea a while back but you know how it is, it's summer and playing with my little girl is my summer fun and keeping me hoppin'! So last night I sat down to create this idea that I have had for a little while and what I figured would be tha hardest part of said idea...the barrel.
I got the drawing done, watercolored it with zigs and then fear set in...all I had to do was outline it but I was terrified I would mess it up, so I left it.
So this morning comes and I am surfing as I always start my day and I see Sandy Alnock using the Love you bunches set from the Ellen Hutson United we flourish set from Lawn Fawn! Now cue the Twilight Zone music because Sandy says on her video how someone should make a barrel! So of course I had to finish off my version to share it with you all and of course Sandy too!  So here it is!
The outside
When you pull on the slider
And the inside of the card (after I took the picture I stamped Love you bunches at the bottom of it as I plan to give it to my girl next week when she heads back to school.)
And there you have my version of a barrel of monkeys!
Thanks for popping in and try to make time to get inky!

Distress Oxide card

Today I have a Distress Oxide card to share. I am SO in love with Distress oxide inks  that I don't even have words. Just when you think Tim Holtz and Ranger couldn't get better....they knock it SMACK outta the park! Okay I could go on and on, so let's just get to the card LOL

I started by ink blending be my cardstock with mustard seed, spiced marmalade and worn lipstick then I spritzed my panel. After that was dried I liberally spritzed Tim's- Ray stencil and placed it down on the panel with a paper towel covering it, then I removed the stencil and picked up the excess water once again I dried the panel. I then added Tim's Tree line thinlet's die cut to the bottom and stamped the sentiment from curious possibilities.
Thanks so much for popping in for a peek and have a lovely inky evening.

The sentiment is "Lovely" by Julie Essentials by Ellen set, the cover plate is by the Ton- the Geometric Lattice Cover plate. The floral stamp is Altenew Vintage Roses, the leaves are a Spellbinder's die.

Where Creativity Meets C9!

I decided to play along with the newest challenge at Where Creativity Meets C9 blog. The challenge is to "Try something new" and since I had this brand new heartstrings die it only made sense to break it in with this challenge!
So here's my card I did up the background in twisted citron Distress ink and inlaid the die pieces after coloring with some zig markers on Bristol smooth cardstock, then topped it with Wink of Stella((too bad glitter doesn't show as purdy Pics as IRL).

a few gifts I made for my DD

Merry Christmas I'm taking a little rest so I can share a couple things I made for my daughter for Christmas. When my sister-n-law and I went shopping for things she could get DD for a present this year one of the things she had thought of previously was the easy bake oven,so I told her I thought it would be a great choice this year. So knowing that she was getting that I thought about the one sad thing about easy bake ovens....the come with two sets of mixes and the refills besides being expensive are hard to find this time of the year we found. This was my solution to that little problem!
Easy bake sized cake mixes...about 64 of them!
And then surfing the net I found a lot of recipes, there were two sets over at and so I added some in...she had great printable so but my stupid printer decided to not print black. Otherwise
I also started collecting small tools of the trade for her like this
I altered the oven mitts and have to take up the ends a bit ,but that' okay. Oh and I made a CEOs hat
Since I am on a vinyl kick I fancied up the box a bit...
Just a fun little gift I made for DD.
And now after a few hours of experimenting and cooking up a storm with DD, getting my bird and stuffing in, I am looking forward to relaxing for 5, have a Merry Christmas all!

some Wild cards!

I am playing along with the online card class "wild Card"
If you are like me and love interactive cards then this class is the class for you! Lawn Fawn's Kelly Marie Alverez is the teacher for this class along with many of her talented friends. This is my "shaped" card from Debby's lesson.
Then next up is a card inspired by Jennifer McGuire 's lesson. This is my gatefold card

This idea for the "pop-up portion of the class came to me in a dream...I rarely dream, or I guess I should say I rarely remember dreaming but this one woke me up at 2 am!
It turns the stitched hillside pop-up into a stitched cloud pop-up!
Thanks for popping in for a peek!

creative Chemistry 103- day 4

So I have another days worth of technique tags for you from Tim's Creative Chemistry class( still have one to do and hope to get that in by the deadline for the gallery closing.
So first up is the Distress Crayon smudge technique
And then I may have gotten a little carried away with the Distress Crayon Gesso Fresco technique
This one is only partially done as I had plans for it on using it on one of my day 2 tags. Then we have this
And this
And this one I wanted to try out using Watercolor paper
Just loved the look of this technique.

Okay this Distress Crayon Textured resist technique was so fun!
Is that cool or what!
This technique is called the Distress Crayon Watercolor resist technique,

I did this as a card but will also do up a tag as I do keep my tecnique tags from class for reference.
Okay and next was this Distress Crayon Blended Background technique, I still need to add something to this one and add it to a tag...when I do I will share but here's the technique.
Alright I do have the one tag left from this day to share but my day 5 of class will just have to wait as I tried to buy Yupo for myself and a Friend but couldn't find it, but you can bet I WILL hunt it down because I loved that day of class!
In the meantime... I wish you much I inkyness.

some leftovers

I had done the distress marker spritzed Watercolor technique from day 2 but it really needed something so this is the first water version
Thought I would do a foil edge and did the sentiment as well.
Then we have the second version
So this one I added onto a tag from the day 4 techniques!
Okay so now I feel better for catching that day up. Hope you had an inky day

And then next up a little bit of play with texture paste coloring....I ended up LOVING this technique!
So much fun!
Next we worked with the texture paste embossing paste
And then we did a Texture paste resist technique
There was one more super fabulous technique that day but I didn't have any Distress grit paste, it is on the way to me as I write this and I will post that tag when I get the paste and do up the tag.
Seriously.....if you didn't take this class...I can't recommend it enough! Tim is just such a naturally gifted teacher!
Okay...the next post is going to be so much fun!
As far as the arm goes...I can whip whip, but I can' t nae nae LOL, but again...not going to stop my playtime, I still have one good arm!
Off to get inky-ER
