It's that time again. Time for me to post my tag for
Tim's 12 tags of 2014 for February
First off I did a tag that followed Tim's colors the best I could, I had to replace the purple he used with Shaded Lilac....but for some reason, I just wasn't feeling the colors
(:( Sorry Tim, I tried but it was just too dark) But I did it and I'll post it anyway.I didn't have that GORGEOUS stamp set of his so I used what I did have :D
Here's my tag following Tim's example

Then I decided to go my own way with it (and I may do more than one example but for now I have one more for you)
I decided I wanted pink hearts but I knew if I did the BG first any colors I would pick would give me orange or purple hearts and so I switched up the order of things a bit.
First I stenciled my hearts and I followed Tim's steps to do so using Spun sugar, and worn lipstick and then picked raspberries, just as he had done with the reds. Then I embossed. Next I did the first step and took broken China and Peacock feathers, and pewter stains and inked up my tag knowing that the hearts would now resist the stain. Since I wanted to turn my tag into a card I cut my tag down just a bit and then I embossed my CS with a technique that Tim taught at online card Classes in
Creative Chemistry 102
and I embossed with Tim's Lattice Layered Stencil on the Tim Holtz/Range Distress Core dinations CS and then sanded it back with the block to reveal the lighter pink.
I embossed my Black CS with the Ranger Antiquities Frosted Crystal embossing powder and chalked it and backed the piece in White CS and added the Industrious stickers, just as I had on the above tag, and the grunge heart with the Distress glitter (used festive berries on the tag and Picked Raspberries for the card) and this is what I had when I was done

I'm glad I didn't just give up...I'm glad I finished the tag as Tim had taught and I'm glad I took it and owned it a bit and put my own spin on it...I really like my finished card!
Thanks for having a peak if you did!! :D and Have an inky day!! :D
