Tim Holtz- Twelve tags of 2014- August

This month Tim wanted us to follow our own muse....but what I love about doing the 12 tags is things I discover through following Tim's lead...so I did both. First following Tim's lead I came up with this tag (I must say I do love the Ranger Texture paste!) and then some close ups for you, should you be interested. (I got this close up before I added the key.) Then I followed my muse a bit and came up with this card using the Tim Holtz Chevron embossing folter, the cracks and specks stamp set,and the Tim Holtz Layered butterfly. The butterfly is done in Spiced Marmalade, Gathered twigs and black soot distress inks and then covered in rock candy crackle paint. The sentiment is from the Simple saying stamp set. Okay then I was not finished following my muse because after making that butterfly my muse carried on and created this next project for the Inspiration Emporium Everything goes Challenge First I got myself a nice pile of butterflies cut and embossed then I painted the butterflies this time using Tim Holtz distress re-inkers (in Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Peacock feathers, faded Jeans, and Seedless preserves)I put some ink down on my craft mat, and when you are done.... You will then start to add black to the butterflies On the previous card I just inked the butterfly direct from the ink pad but for this project I really wanted a more solid dark line that did not go into my painted areas so I did this all by hand painting. Then I painted my canvas board Then I added some ink to the board and flicked some water about also. Then you will forget to take pictures if you are like me LOL but you will stencil and stamp and add more ink and flick more water, and stamp more and grab your Tim Holtz Distress marker spritzer and spritz, then you will finally paint and then add a word band and this is what I had when I finished- a rainbow of butterflies and then finally I will add in some closeups of the butterflies on the canvas. I thank you for taking a peek if you did! Have an inky day...or night :D

Let's make it Three for Thursday!

Oh it never rains but it pours eh? LOL I am going to do a third post today because I know how Fridays can be and I may not get to post this until Monday. So here are a few more cards from ONline Card Classes, still using the Floral stamps I have two more outline stamps....why? Because I am having to much fun just being Free! and the last card for today....I think LOL is a technique that Jennifer McGuire taught and her card was so pretty I just had to give it a whirl...yay! I got it done...darn I forgot the BG stamp but I don't really have a subtle BG stamp ah well...Cest la Vie! okay so last but not least we have this card The sentiment and the dark color on the leaves is gold glitter embossing but it didn't photograph well. Okay, that's it. Have a great evening!

Day 9 Stretch your Stamps 2

I have a few more pictures to share with you today for Day 9 of class...it was floral and flower building sets and I LOVED IT! (mind you if you know me, this will come as no surprise to you!) Luckily I had just received my Wplus9 Spring Blooms stamps set which we used for class!(Thanks Hubs!) So let's get down to the cards! First up did a create a window card here- I don't have scripty words or the hangy die cut words to put in the window so I added alpha stickers to washi tape. and then the next card I got done was the stamping on dark CS, unfortunately I have a CRUMMY white ink pad and even though I treated this and stamped off and everything....it still didn't dry properly and it smudged :( ah well so it goes. I don't know if you noticed but I share the good, the bad and the ugly from my classes....it just goes to show you don't always master it first time out the gate, sometimes you have to stick with it and try again when you have the time :D ( or in my case...a decent ink pad)LOL ALL of the techniques on Day 9 were AWESOME, I loved every single one of them!! I still have a couple more to do as well, but this one...made me squeal out loud! because it was a look I loved, it reminds me of vintage fabrics- and the final look was nothing like the look you get when you stamped the stamps normally. This one was called sketched outlines. It was edgy and daring, a little intimidating but I HAD to try....see I had had dreams the night before of a bright aqua with a light orange and red and aquas...normally I don't recall my dreams so it really stuck with me, I was going to do a card with these colors. Then the example came up...in the colors, I just had to give it a go!! and here's my card Okay...so I did two of them, here's the other! I personally like the first one I showed best but again...I show you everything I made in class! I hope you enjoyed looking at my cards, I HIGHLY recommend this class! I am all about getting some versatility out of your supplies and Jennifer and Kristina's classes over at online card classes NEVER ever fail to do that!! I can't say enough great things about them, they really are the best! Are you still here?? Go, go get inky!! :D

Busy Busy Busy!

I'm sorry for the delay between posts!! Summer is a hard time to take a class, run a little one around, answer the constant begging to play with her, get inky and THEN post all about it. I apologize. Okay so here's a long post with my work from the Online Card Classes- Stretch your Stamps 2 which is AWWWWWWWESOME!! I have been loving playing along when I can. This is going to jump from day to day. Here we go! On Day 4 of class there was a technique of using alphas as objects and I came up with this Then on Day 6 we did a technique called no line coloring I used Tim Holtz's Nautical blueprints and used the shell for this technique. I decided at the last moment to do it with watercolor and I was hoping the 110lb would hold up, which it did but it did warp, it wasn't noticeable really until I went to mount it. I really should have used Watercolor paper, but it was all stamped out so I rolled with it anyway. I did a few pieces so here's the second one I mounted to a step card and added other pieces not in no outline just stamped and colored. and then just a look at it standing, in the window Then, again on Day6 we have a Water Painting technique and again I used Tim's Nautical Blueprints stamps but this time I used the sea horse. I love this set! Okay then...on Day7 we played with Graphic stamps and this is my card for forming a shape I have work from Day 9 to share but I am going to make a separate post since I actually got four cards for yesterday (day 9) done.

I'mmmmm Back!

I had a lovely vacation in California and then I have been running around with a little gal doing fun stuff like our waterpark, other waterparks, and the waterslides! Wheeee! I love summertime. So let me start by sharing a card I did up before I left A little Lawn Fawn' Life is good set, Winnie and Walter The Big the Bold and the Extras, and the Big the Bold and the Fun.. done with Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress markers, Mama Elephant for the Femme frames - totally fun! I may be playing with this set for a long while yet! Okay so I just started the Online Card Class Stretch your Stamps class. So without further ado I will share the cards I whipped up on Days one and two. So on day one Kristina taught this cute little number called Multi-layered emboss resist and these are my cards for the technique. The next one I got done was a beautiful card that Shari got done using a technique called faux watercolor. It was so beautiful that aside from not having the die she did (I used a Winnie and Walter stamp and fussy cut my sentiment out) and choosing different colors I stuck pretty much to her plan. :D And then for the last card I got done that day ...was one that Lisa Spangler taught called Mist resist and this is my verstion...again I didn't have all of the products she had but I think I did okay all the same ;D Day 2 I got a Ombre card done I just LOVE the colors I chose (Salty Ocean Peacock feathers and Broken China. I found the sequins in the dollar store and you know what? I LOVE them!! (no big surprise, if you know me, you know I love blues Next cards I completed were inspired by the fabulously talented Jennifer McGuire! This is my card using her technique she actually taught two parts and I did both but I only have a card from the first have done so far. Last but not least was Acrylic paint resist from Joy Taylor and I did up two cards using my technique piece and here they are... and this one And that is all that I have so far. Today is actually day four but ....I have a little gal home with me on vacation and at her age she wants an adventure EVERYday :D and I love having her home with me so I take my playtime when I can get it. Hope to have a bit more for you in the next day or two. :D Thanks for popping in for a peek...now what are you waiting for? GO get inky! :D you know you wanna! :D
