Christmas In June

Inspiration Emporium is having a Christmas in June challenge over on their blog. First I am entering one of these three cards and then I will add one of these three cards While I could probably enter all six....I figured I would do one from each color family set since they were pretty much done in the same way which was... I inked the wallpaper stamp (alternating the wood grain with the wallpaper) in distress ink (alternating both iced spruce distress ink and Evergreen bough Distress ink) and then I spritzed the stamp with the mini mister bottle and then applied the watercolor paper to the stamp covered it with scratch paper and gave it a rub, making sure not to move while doing so, to get good coverage and then I let that dry, cut a circle out with Tim's circle dies then on Neenah Solar white CS I stamped the various mini Holiday collection stamps stamps for the backing for the windows of the watercolor pieces. I then took 4X8" CS (half of the cards done in the red(3), half done in the green (3) scored them at 4" on the 8" side so I got 4" square cards and then used the envelope punch board to create tab cards out of them all and then mounted the stamped images/sentiments and then the watercolor papers with the circle windows over them. Then I am entering this one also This one I used Tim's Holly Layering stencil and inked a full A2 card front with it. Inked it with Shabby shutters, Peeled paint and festive berries and a touch of gathered twigs distress inks using the Mini ink blending tool Added some glossy accents for the berries. Then I stamped the mini holiday stamps in Jet Black archival Rounded the corners and then inked the edges in Walnut stain ink. and for my last entry for this challenge I give you this card... For this one I stamped the Christmas Blueprint stamp on Watercolor paper in Jet black Archival and colored it with the distress markers and the water brush. When it was dry I fussy cut out the image and inked the edges with the black soot marker. Then I use a piece of mirror cut frameworks Mounted to a piece of red CS and then mounted the tin soldier image with dimensional tape and also a Seasonal salvage sticker which was sanded and inked just under for him to "stand" on. I then mounted the whole thing on a white A2 card. I had a blast making all of these cards for the Inspiration Emporium challenge and I love having gotten some of my Christmas stuff done so it was not left till the last moment! Thanks for popping in to take a peek...here's hoping you find time to get inky!

  2. Thank you Heather!
Since Tim started with the 12 tags of Christmas it's not overly hard for me to get into the spirit (although June is WAY earlier than I normally would start! LOL) Still it's nice to know I got a few cards done...now if I can just remember to use them!
    LOL
