How sweet it is!

So Eileen Hull has a Challenge called the Eileen Hull Art with heart challenge and the November challenge is a "Favorite Recipe" challenge. When I saw the Vintage kitchen canister my wheels started turning of the great recipes of gifts one could create with such dies and the canisters made me think of the project I am sharing. I wish I had a Eileen Hull die to use for this challenge (the Candy box has been on my wish list since I first laid eyes on it!) but alas I do not, but still...I have CANDY! :D and I'm willing to share! LOL My recipe is a candy dispenser and I think that vintage canister would make an awesome candy dispenser with just a couple adjustments! I have another idea for it too! ;D

Winnie and Walter Playdate #4 last project

:D or at least I think it will be LOL. So this is most likely my last Playdate entry for Playdate #4over at Winnie and Walter It is inspired by the first picture again...I saw the parts and appreciated the styling the person did with their vignette and made this inspired by it and added to it. This project is a Silhouette cutting file from Lori Whitlock called the 3D Shadowbox frame 11.3"X 11.3". I thought this would make a cute little home decor piece, the entire project is made from cardstock! Every section has Winnie and Walter in it as well...it's like six projects in one :D and now I'll give you some closeups. The first square is a Watercolor piece where I stamped the tree from Winter Woodland and watercolored all the needles of it then I added in the red background and gave it some silver stickles. The star on the top is a bead I was given so I can't tell you the name of them. Then I made a small gift box and stamped the CS with the polka dot stamp in the Mama Elephant boutique borders stamp set and added two of the Tim Holtz Bow tie Die bows to it. Next up is the square that I inked with Evergreen bough distress ink and added dots of water to take away ink for a blurry snow look, I stamped the Deer from the Winter Woodland set and embossed it in Ranger Gold embossing powder, I added a red gem just for a fun little touch. The square below I added a pieces of the pine Bough from the Winter woodland set and the pine cones and popped dotted up the various parts and then pop dotted the two cardinals on top. The last square on the top has a Silhouette cut file that is called Sled and Sprig. I didn't use the sprig instead I stamped and cut out the evergreen from ...you guessed it Winter Woodland set and then cut it out added it on the top of the sled added some berries and mini pinecones from my stash and the white cardstock is from the forest border from Lawn Fawn. On the bottom Left square I took a piece of Recollections Cardtock and added some Wendy Vecchi embossing paste with the Simon says stamp "Falling Snow" Stencil. I then cut out a bunch of Paper Snowflakes from Tim Holtz, and inked them with tumbled glass distress inks and glued them to the background. I then cut his layered snowflake and embossed it and popped it off the Background, Added Rock candy crackle paint to it and added broken China distress stain to it. I then stamped my words from The Big. the Bold and the Merry stamps from Winnie and Walter cut them out and inked the edges again in the Tumbled glass. The last square is a piece of Watercolor paper and a technique taught by Dawn Woleslagle during the Online card class "Holiday card Workshop. I watercolored the boughs again from the Winter Woodland set and added the word JOY from Tim holtz Holiday Word scrip die. I had a total blast making this and now that I am in the groove I see way more decor items in my future! Thanks for popping in for a look!! Now don't just stand there!Go and get inky! :D

Winnie and Walter Playdate #4

Today I am sharing some entries I made for Winnie and Walter's Playdate #4 which you can find here http://www.blog.winniewalter.com/2014/11/playdate-no-4.html(just in case you didn't want to use my direct link for some reason :D) First up I did this white on white card with the digital cut files and one of the stamps from Winter Woodland set. This is inspired as a direct representation of the first picture only without the color. Next up I took a little snippet from that same image for my inspiration for this card. Again it is using the Winter Woodland Stamp set. Okay, this next card was pulled from the color inspiration pallet and I stamped the boughs from the Winter Woodland collection on Watercolor paper and then added water to them with a waterbrush. The Sentiment is from the Big, The Bold and the Merry stamp set. I know I say it all the time but I LOVE these Winnie and Walter sets! Now for my final project today I have another project using the Winter Woodland set and a lantern pattern from Splitcoast stampers. Again this is following the color inspiration but also takes from the first picture inspiration also. I was wanting to start some Holiday decor items and Winnie and Walter fit the bill for me. Okay, now that second inspiration, I found it a hodge podge of golds, Clearly there is an ornament perhaps preparations for the holiday season and so this is my inspiration of that picture. The sentiment is from The Big, the Bold and the Merry again. The rest of the stamps are Lawn Fawn Joy to the Woods and the frame is from Lawn Fawn's stitched rectangles and I water-colored the Background in the golden tones.

Having some fun tonight...Thanks Influenster! Thanks Hasbro!!

I recently received my very first Vox box from Influenster, it was the Hasbro Junior Monopoly game, (they send the game to us free of charge). So it was our happy job to play and review the game and share our results with you here on my blog. Since I knew what the box was I told my DD that SHE had mail (remember the thrill of getting mail when you were a kid!!) and thrill it was...see for yourself! Of course an immediate family game night was in order!!(knowing this I quickly whipped together a plan to make it a little more like an event!) My daughter was so excited...she loves playing games and I LOVE that Hasbro makes games we can all play! The fact that this is a game for 6+ did not make it any less fun for DH and I either. We all had fun with it. We have a couple of other monopolies rated for kids (Despicable me monopoly and Cars2 monopoly) so when I asked my daughter, at bedtime, if she had fun she "Oh yeah!" I asked her did she like it as much as the Despicable me or Cars Monopolies and she said "more!" I asked her why and she said she liked the cat (LOL she claimed that was her piece RIGHT off the bat!) and she also liked the fun spots, the pizza place, the toy store and the zoo. Dad and I loved that DD could easily play on her own, and the game didn't lag. We are thrilled to have gotten this Vox Box to add to our Family games arsenal!! Of course this post would not be complete without a couple pictures!! Thank you Hasbro and thank you Influenster. We would love to review MORE games!! FUN FUN FUN!!

More Online card class cards

:D So sorry for the delay between posts but I have been building furniture and shuffling about stuff! Whew...I am just getting a free moment to catch up today so I finished up a couple of my cards from Class and decided to post everything I have now to this point. Okay so interactive card day....of class I got the open door card Using the Winnie and Walter "This Awesome House" stamp set. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant Season's Greetings Stamp set. Next up was this card SO much fun!! uses the PTI snowglobe dies and Mama Elephant and their Adorable Artic Penguins set. Instead of putting this on a card I just made the tag into a card but cutting a second BG die and scoring at about an 1 1/4" from the top. and folding and adhering to the card. The sentiment inside is from Technique Tuesday Everything Jolly. On Watercolor day I had TOOO much fun doing this card that was taught from Dawn Woleslagle of WPlus9, I just love when she teaches her techniques!! She kind of reminds me of Bob Ross in that she makes me BELIEVE I can in fact watercolor!! I mean after doing my wood background by hand I thought HEY>...I'm going to throw some pine cones in my wreath because I see happy little pinecones living in my wreath!! And so I did! Supplies were Season's Greetings die from Simon says stamps and stamps from Lawn fawn's Deck the halls and it really should go without saying but all cards inked or watercolored with inks are done so with Tim Holtz distress inks and markers. Okay and then I have a couple from one layer day...This one using the double die partial cutting technique and then this one which because of the card orientation and me not thinking of that until it was too late LOL I cut off the front and then mounted so it's not totally true to the one layer but still....I liked it! :D and next up I have a tag/gift card holder this was SO fast and easy to do....I totally LOVED it! I am hoping to sneak a few more off before closing up of the class. As always Kristina and Jennifer put on one HECK of a Class!! Now class has come to a close but you can still take the class now! Run on over to Online Card Classes and get into the Holiday Card Workshop and get a jump on your card making for this year.....(PS I am more than done....I'm actually thinking of making up sets for gifts for people!) Hey...don't hate...just go take the class and you'll be done soon too! :D Besides,it's about time you got inky! :D
