Tim's 12 Tags for 2014 - May :D

I took so long because one this month has FLOWN by! andI didn't have the Shadow Press folders, and when I went to lay out all my trinkets I had the darnedest time actually picking which ones I would use. I keep my best Disney Trinkets and my Tim Treasures in a Collectors Anniversary tea box with several dividers. Then it came to me that I wanted the pieces to each mean something and so I made this tag to be used on one of my Disney pages. I often think of Disney when I think of Tim, and once I decided to go that route it all came together for me! and so without further ado...here's my tag for May. Sorry for the double picture....the first one looked so small to me, but I already added the link over at Tim's site so I didn't want to delete the first so you get to see it twice! LOL And a few close ups. Tim's Details mentioned not forgetting your die cuts because they make great embellishments also and I totally agree and so does his wonderful collection of stamps! The flower is from the Tattered Garland Die and the butterfly is from the Mini blueprints 2 set. Tim's Rub ons are UBER cool too and I couldn't help but use a few of them! (as well as the chit chat stickers!) and the compass points the way to Disney! The Background for my tag is made up of Tumbled glass, Ocean Breeze, Everygreen bough and peacock feathers with just a dash of walnut stain for the Background colors and then I inked the edges in Walnut stain. Thanks for popping in for a peek if you did!

Three last cards from Watercolor for Card Makers Class.

So I have just a few more cards to sneak in before they totally close up shop over at the Online Card Class- Watercolor for Card Makers. The first is a simple card that Kristina shared....it was totally funny that a half hour before I received a card that was a DEAD ringer for her card!! here's the inspiration piece for my card, a Birthday card I received early. and here's the card I made...for the sentiment I used the Winnie and Walter, the Big the Bold and the Happy. It was fall enough to work out perfectly in the side space!! Next...I gave my hand a try at the hand lettering. Not my favorite piece but if you don't try something you will never know how you feel about it and so here you have it. And then as a finale I had this idea for a 4th of July card and tried it out using Tim's lesson as inspiration. I then added Wendy Vecchi's white embossing paste to the stars and added Picket fence distress glitter to the top of that and then I stenciled and inked the 4 and put Wendy's clear embossing paste on that and added Festive Berries distress glitter on that. I had Linda Ledbetter's Compendium of Curiosity's Challenge 2 on my mind and the impending deadline and so that's where the inspiration for the glitter came and so I will enter this in that challenge. And since it's about celebrating the 4th of July I will also enter it at the Inspiration Emporium for their CELEBRATE challenge which you can find her if the link doesn't work for some reason http://blog.inspirationemporium.com/?p=2333

I love you Snow. A Layout. :D

I got another LO done using a sketch from Kelly Purkey's Sketchbook Class over at Studio Calico. (WHOOHOOO!) I had a Tim Holtz flower Garland flower on French Industrial paper leftover from another project that I added and then I used Iconic stamps and Studio Calico stamps from the class as well as Laina Lambs designs stamps from My Favorite Things called Document it, expand your view. The Title is made up of Winnie and Walter stamps, they make sentiments so easy and look cool too, all I needed was one additional word and I got that from a Studio G dollar stamp. :D As much as I have had a blast making a ton of cards it's nice to get a LO done! :D

Day 11 from the Online Card Class- Watercolor for card makers.

Tim Holtz day!! Play Day!! There were other instructors that day also but I am showing the cards I did that Tim Holtz taught. First up I'll share this one And next... And lastly I have this one, this one I did a little differently the stamped piece is backed in a Black CS mat and then it was added to the white card on an angle...the Blue cardstock you see is just so you would see the card and is not a part of the card at all. I loved making these cards. I have done the technique before (from Online card classes hosting Tim Holtz's Creative Chemistry 102) but it doesn't make it any less fun for me!! I still love doing Tim's techniques. :D As a matter of fact...I may just do a couple more for fun! :D I will be entering the two Birthday versions of cards into the Inspiration Emporium's May challenge "CELEBRATE!" if that link doesn't work you can copy and paste the URL to get there http://blog.inspirationemporium.com/?p=2333 If you popped in for a peek, thank you!! and go get inky!!

Some more Watercolor class cards.

Okay I have to play catch up. I had a couple days where I had NO time to play, dang I hate when Life keeps me from playing! LOL okay so Day 8 I managed to get a couple of cards for that day done. First Up is this one I added a little 7 gypsies butterfly to the Hero Arts stamp I used previously. Then I did up this one The vase or bottle and the sentiment are Avery Elle and I used MFT Wildflowers stencil to do a tracing. Day nine I had two cards I completed so far as well. The sentiment is The Big, the Bold and the Happy from Winnie and Walter. and then I did this one When I saw Kristina Werner's card this was the first thing that popped into my head! Funny because right after I watched class I got a birthday card from my SIL and it had ....a stack of prezzies on the front! I will do a watercolor version (hopefully by the next post) and show that one also. and then I have one card from Day 11 to show here Using the cute little "Wish you Were here" stamp set from Lawn Fawn. LOL apparently I am not a space nut...and I live in a rainbow colored world :D Still...I think it came out cute. I hope to have another nice little pile of cards for you by tomorrow!!

Day 6 Watercolor for Cardmakers

I have but one single card to share, from Yesterday's class. It was coloring in with watercolors. I had colored this stamp in with distress inks and markers in the past so I thought I would try the watercolors and see how I liked it. I did like it...however I find the distress easier, maybe because I use it so much. Anyhoo...here it is.

Day 3 of Online Card class watercolor for card makers.

Today I have 3 cards from class done. Anyway...on to the ones I did get done! #1 This card Was one that Jennifer Rzasa showed us how to do. I have done this technique before and I quite enjoy it! Next up is inspired by a card that Kristina Werner showed us and although I did not have the stamp set that Kristina worked with (TOTALLY AWESOME!!) I had something that I thought was a little similar and would work the same if I followed the technique and that was the Garden Variety from PTI. Oh how much fun I had and felt like a genius when I remembered this set! LOL. And last but not least was a fun card with techniques taught by Jennifer McGuire the sentiment is from The Big, the Bold and YOU from Winnie and Walter, and the flower....the flower was the ONLY solid flower image I had that was a whole flower (I know! I am shocked and dismayed with myself as well! LOL) Anyway...it's one of my first stamps I believe, and I think (but don't hold me to it) it is from Purple Onion. HA! I was right it is...they actually still sell it. :D and so that is what I have accomplished today! FUN STUFF!! Thanks for popping in for a peek if you did!! :D

Day 2 of Online Card Classes Watercolor for card makers

I have had a long love for watercolors and so I am really loving this class!! One thing that watercolor truly forces you to do is to embrace imperfection! there are no perfectly straight lines, it is very organic and natural. I did up three cards today. This first card is using Agnieszka Malyszek's technique. Where she had a sentiment I put a flower I made, and I put the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous down further. I was just in a flower mood. The next card was a technique that Jennifer McGuire shared with us. She actually did several, I used the cheaper more readily available option and the hero Arts watercolors. As I said...things will not go perfectly and I have left my card as is to show you all however I will be going back in to color the spaces between the flowers in similar greens and blues. I knew it would be easier to do it this way. It uses PTI year of the flower stamps and Winnie and Walters The Big, the Bold and You stamp set. And now for my last share, this technique was shared from Debby Hughes. She showed several ways you could use the background on cards also I happened to spot one of my stamps I was going to put on a die cut I put it on my BG to see what sort of a die I would need (size wise) and I liked it just as is so I rolled with it just stamped onto the Background. I used Tim's Wallpaper BG stamp. Peacock feathers, Evergreen bough and tumbled glass Distress inks and a Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Say it with Words stamp set. when I stamped the BG I think it went off kilter because I trimmed up the sentiment square and it still looks off. I actually did this BG twice because I liked it so much so I will do another ;) and that concludes my examples from today's lessons over at Online Card Classes

Online Card Classes- watercolor for cardmakers.

Yep, I'm back in class! (and loving every moment of it!) it's another Jam packed, full of fun class over at Online Card Classes it just started so if you want to jump in...by all means do!! I highly recommend their classes. Okay so today I am sharing three cards from today's class. Okay so I still need to work on this technique, It's still cool but I'll give it another go before class is done. :D This one I happen to love! I love the vibrancy of it (it is done with distress inks) I was actually looking for this tutorial yesterday from another card the instructor Laura Bassen had made and came up empty so I was THRILLED to be doing this one! and then Last but not least I have this card I also love this one!! Because of the way the stamp was I thought I needed to wipe down the stamped areas...when I did that I kinda toned down the vibrancy of the watercolor...and you know what? I am TOTALLY Okay with that! I learned something and I think it's totally cool this way too...it's a more distressed look! I added a flower made from Tim's Garland flower die and the stamped message is from Winnie and Walter :D
